Charlene Badham is the Clinic Coordinator and Leimeena Day is the Clinic Coordinator at Mamu Health Service Ltd. Mamu Health Service Ltd is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation. They provide culturally appropriate and comprehensive primary health care programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities in Innisfail and the surrounding areas. Mamu Health Service Ltd has been incorporated since 1st May 1990. Prior to this, they were a branch of Wuchopperen Medical Service in Cairns which was established in July 1981. Basic clinics began operating in Innisfail in 1984. In 1990 the Innisfail Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community decided to elect their own health committee. On the 1st May 1990, the committee became autonomous from Wuchopperen (who supplied an outreach service since 1984) and adopted the tribal name of MAMU for their clinic. Two years later in 1992, Mamu Health Service Limited established an outreach clinic in Ravenshoe and also service the Mount Garnet communities.
