Become a member of NATSIHWA so you can support the growing recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers & Practitioners across Australia. You will also be supporting the future of the profession and helping others to understand what Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Health Practitioners do and the importance of the role within the community and the Health Industry. All Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers & Practitioners – past and present – can become members of NATSIHWA. Applications are approved by The NATSIHWA Board and you will be notified of your membership once approved. We also encourage professional bodies and/or non indigenous friends to help support this important role by becoming a Friend of NATSIHWA. (see application details below) MEMBERSHIP IS FREE

Levels of Membership

Full

A person who:

  • Identifies as an Aboriginal/or Torres Strait Islander person
  • Has completed a minimum qualification of Certificate III in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care

Full members have voting rights at the NATSIHWA AGM following six months of continuous membership

 

Associate

  • Identifies as an Aboriginal/or Torres Strait Islander person
  • Has a health qualification other than a minimum of Certificate III in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care
  • OR Is currently studying to become a health worker

 

Friend

Non-indigenous health professionals and health organisations can apply as a Friend of NATSIHWA
