Dean, Trish and David from Arche Health Limited

Dean Taylor is the Care Coordinator, Trish Bushby is the Manager of the Aboriginal Health Team and David Bell is the Aboriginal Indigenous Outreach Worker at Arche Health Limited. Arche Health is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee and a registered charity under the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission. We are a GP member based organisation with a well established history in service quality in the southern metropolitan region of Perth, Western Australia. The organisation has previously operated under the trading names of the Canning Division of General Practice and The Bentley-Armadale Medicare Local. The organisation was founded on June 1999 with Commonwealth Government funding through the establishment of local Divisions of General Practices. These organisations were set up across Australia to provide a voice and an identity for local GPs. The current organisations name "Arche" stems from the Greek term (ἀρχή) that denotes primary senses "beginning", "origin" or "source of action" or "first principle". The term was first used by Pre-Socretic Greek philosopher Anaximander. In recognition of the lexicology of the word, Arche Health's service model embodies deeply committment to the true value of primary health care as the frontline of their health care system. A strong, accessible primary health care system keeps people well and out of hospital, supporting them to manage their health issues closer to their homes. Effective primary health care services focus on proactive approaches using preventative measures, managing complex chronic diseases, while encouraging self-care recommendations. Primary health care also serves to decrease delays and increase access to the health care system, offering better health outcomes and in doing so, reduce the need for costly specialist hospital services.
